- May 19, 2020 Choose the app you want to copy the videos to, e.g. IMovie, and then add the video file to the app. You can either drag the videos you want to transfer to the window on the right side or click 'Add File' to add the items to the app. Afterward, the file will be copied to your device automatically.
- Oct 10, 2019 Note: If you want to send any project to your Mac for backup or to edit it in iMovie for Mac, or if you want to edit the project further on another compatible iPhone or iPad, you should send the project to iCloud Drive, or use AirDrop to quickly transfer files between devices. To transfer or copy a project from Mac #1 to Mac #2 you must create a new library on an external drive (formatted Mac OS Extended, journaled) that is connected to Mac #1, and then copy your project into the new library. You then plug the external drive, usually a USB thumb drive, into Mac #2, where the library and the project in it can be accessed. Mac #2 must have the exact same version and iteration of iMovie as the one in which the project was created.
